Client needed upgraded security system
An old CCTV system was already in place
To view content the existing analgue system required:
- 1 signal splitter
- 3 multiplex (1 – 16 and 2-8 channel)
- a monitor on each multiplex to view content
On the 8 channels the only way to change input would be to change outout at splitter on one and multiplex pass through on others
A hybrid system was installed
- Cameras were increased from 14 to 29
- All of the new cameras were IP - specially Sony brand
- One (1) camera was PTZ with 10X optical zoom
- One was fixed with 10X optical zoom
- Others 3X optical zoom
- A few of the key new cameras are also megapixel
Many of the new camera had day/night mode for low light levels
The new DVR was programmed (IP of device, name, etc)
The coverage of teh cameras specified
Motion trigger areas were set in each camera
The DVR was set to record on motion
The IP and/or location on analgue added to each camera number
The Digiop Remote Manager was added to each client PC
The advantage of this sort of setup is that viewing any camera is simply a matter of specifiying its number
Additionally the client can review recorded media from their PC
Also a benefit is that the information is streamed over the network
Additionally the router was programmed via NAT with the appropriated ports to remote viewing off site
