I have known Lionel for the past 17 years and have served with him on theSouth CarolinaSynodStatewide Commission on Inclusiveness for theEvangelicalLutheranChurchinAmerica. In this capacity Lionel served often as a catalyst and a wise insightful advocate to how we as a Church can become a more intentionally diverse community of believers. The two things I value most about Lionel is his honesty and his sense of humor. He has a good moral spiritual compass that helps inform his words and actions and he has the ability to laugh at himself and to find good humor in a variety of situations.
